SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The Bearcats advanced to the GLVC medal/match play portion of the GLVC tournament at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 for the third straight year. McKendree was the fourth seed and battled the top-seeded University of Indianapolis Greyhounds. The Greyhounds took the match, but not without a scare from the Bearcats.
The lone Bearcat to win his match was Rasmus Nilsson who shot an even par 72 to win by two strokes. Phasin Vichitcharoenpaisarn fought back down two strokes with two holes to play to tie his match with a 74. Griffin St. Pierre also tied his match in the final spot by shooting a 73. Thomas Tollefsen and Aidan O'Keefe lost their matches in the first two spots as they shot in the 80s.
McKendree entered the event sitting 9th in the NCAA Midwest/Central Regional rankings and will await their fate later this week when the field is released.
