Women's Water Polo to Compete in WWPA Championships this Weekend

LA MIRADA, Calif. - The McKendree University women's water polo is set to begin the 2024 Western Water Polo Association Championships on April 26 at 10:00 p.m. central time against California State University Monterey Bay. The WWPA Championships, hosted by Biola University, will be played at Splash La Mirada Aquatics Center.

The Bearcats clinched the East Region's No.1 seed with a win over Gannon University at the WWPA Erie Classic. The Sea Otters notched the West Region's No.4 seed for the WWPA Championships. McKendree last went up against Monterey Bay in last year's WWPA conference tournament falling to the Sea Otters in overtime with a score of 8-10.

If the Bearcats win game one they will advance to the semifinals and play the winner of game two which is No.3 Salem University versus No.2 California State University Eastbay. This semifinal match will be played the next day on April 27 at 4:45 p.m. The championship game will be hosted on Sunday, April 28 at 3:15 p.m.
