LEBANON, Ill – McKendree University women's lacrosse played Missouri Western State University in their final home game of the 2024 season.  

Starting off the day the Bearcats honored nine graduating seniors; Hayley Schnefke, Olivia Julian, Riley Bishop, Mackenzie Rogers, Gretchen Kuhn, Lauren Fischer, Molly Grant, Lexi Helms, and Hannah Unkefer.  

To being the game the Bearcats fell into a 8-4 at the half, and shortly after the second half was underway a lightning delay derailed the game causing a 40 minute delay. After the delay the Bearcats came back to take the lead and eventually force overtime with a score of 12-12.  

The Bearcats fell in overtime 13-12. Sophomore Jayna Barnden led the way scoring 6 goals. Senior Olivia Julian and sophomore Jenna Sugarman both scored two goals. Fifth year senior Lexi Helms added a goal as well as senior Riley Bishop who scored her first goal of the season. 

McKendree Lacrosse hits the road to play GLVC foes William Jewel and Rockhurst this forthcoming weekend.
