KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - No.7 McKendree University men's soccer (5-0-1, 2-0-1 GLVC) kept its unbeaten season with a 0-0 draw against the Bulldogs of Truman State on Sunday afternoon. The Bearcats still captured one point to total four on the weekend while adding a fourth shutout on the fall. McKendree is set to play its first home regular season contests of 2024 next weekend, hosting Drury on September 27 and Southwest Baptist on September 29.
The Bearcats and Bulldogs battled through a day of rain in Kirksville, resulting in a nil-nil final score. Seventh-ranked McKendree had three players fire on-frame shots, with freshman defender
Henri Poll and freshman defender
Pablo Pola each tallying one while freshman midfielder
Matthaeus Hirschmann putting two on-goal.
McKendree pushed hard with three of for second half shots being put on-frame but were unable to convert. The Bearcats also earned three corners in the latter half of the game. The Bearcat defense only allowed three shots while zero were put on-frame for TSU.
