Women's Volleyball Concludes Day One of Reddie-Tiger Invitational

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - McKendree University concludes day one play at the Reddie-Tiger Invitational with two hard-fought battles against St. Mary's University and Henderson State University.

In game one against the Rattlers, the Bearcats came out hot winning the first set 25-23. The Rattlers found some momentum in the next two sets securing the 25-17 and 25-16 wins. In the fourth set, the Bearcats came out hot with a 25-21 win, but the Rattlers slipped away with a 15-10 victory in the fifth set to win the match.

Graduate student right side Colleen Preusser posted a 14-kill, 16-dig double-double. Additionally, Preusser added four service aces. Senior setter Amber Williams also delivered 37 assists and tallied 19 digs for a double-double. On the offensive side, junior middle blocker Hannah Kampwerth and junior outside hitter Destiny Gray put down 10 kills each being a career-high for Kampwerth. Senior libero Keely Davis snagged 13 digs defensively.

In game two, the Reddies completed a three-set triumph over the Bearcats with scores of 25-17, 25-15, and 25-21.

Preusser led the way for the Bearcats with nine kills and 11 digs. Gray posted six kills while freshman outside hitter Isabella Eskierka added four kills. Williams tallied 11 assists and sophomore setter Caroline Johnston added eight assists.

Defensively, freshman middle blocker Avery Guisinger added a career-high two blocks. Gray tallied seven digs while Davis added four. 

The Reddie-Tiger Invitational continues on Saturday, September 7th as the Bearcats take on Mississippi College at 10 a.m. and Ouachita Baptist University at 5:30 p.m.
