Men's Volleyball Sweeps Golden Eagles

LEBANON, Ill. - The McKendree men's volleyball team dominated the University of Charleston on Saturday night for their first sweep of the season.

The Bearcats controlled the momentum the whole way, completing the three-set triumph with scores of 25-22, 25-23, and 25-22.

Leading the way for McKendree was senior outside hitter Sam Hoskin, tying his career-high of 15 kills with a hitting percentage of .500 and securing seven digs. Senior middle blocker D'Aaron McCraney recorded eight digs, with a hitting percentage of .800 and senior outside hitter Kevin Schuele tabbed in seven kills. Sophomore setter Nate Flayter took charge with 34 assists and four kills.

Defensively, junior libero Yadiel Diaz and Flayter each recorded six digs. Junior middle blocker Rolen Lively dominated with his blocking presence with seven blocks, and Flayter secured four blocks.

McKendree recorded a season-high hitting percentage of .384, notching in 44 kills in three sets.

The Bearcats are back in action on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. at home as they take on Maryville University.
