No. 20 Men's Volleyball is Set to Host Home Opener on Saturday

LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree men's volleyball is set to host Rockhurst University this Saturday, Jan. 11 at 7:30 p.m. for its first home game of the season. The Bearcats return to action after their trip out west to Hawaii and California.

McKendree will meet Rockhurst for the first time in school history, as the men's volleyball program began this year for the Hawks. Rockhurst is a part of the Independent Volleyball Association conference.

In the Bearcats first week of action, senior outside hitter Kevin Schuele leads the team in kills with 28, averaging 2.95 kills per set. Redshirt junior outside hitter Sam Hoskin follows behind with 24 kills, and senior middle blocker D'Aaron McCraney has 19 kills. Sophomore setter Nate Flayter is leading the team in assists, securing 90 in the first three games. Defensively, Hoskin leads the team in digs with 19, averaging 1.90 digs per set, and Shuele follows behind with 16 digs. Protecting the net for the Bearcats is McCraney with ten blocks and fifth year opposite hitter Nikos Xydakis with seven blocks.
