LEBANON, Ill. – The women's volleyball team fell in three-sets to the Saints of Maryville University this evening. McKendree battled but the Saints had too much momentum for the Bearcats to weather. The final scores were 22-25, 11-25, 23-25.

The match up between the Saints and the Bearcats was an evenly fought competition with Mayville scoring a total 53 points compared to McKendree's 45. The Saints finished with a team total of 41 kills while McKendree only tallied 35 on the match. Both teams recording an even six blocks, and the saints outscored the Bearcats behind the service line six aces to four. The Bearcats picked up one more dig, 44, than the Saints who had 43. Maryville notched 37 assists while McKendree finished with 32.

McKendree was led offensively by the outside duo, senior Destiny Gray and freshman Maddy Clarke, each recording 10 kills. Graduate outside hitter Emily-Kate Lonergan followed suit with five kills on the match. Freshman setter Peyton Uptgraft tallied 27 assists, orchestrating the Bearcats' offense with help from senior libero Ashlyn Berczynski with five assists.

Sophomore outside hitter/defensive specialist Paige Parant paved the way for the defense with 12 digs, followed by Berczynski and Gray each with nine digs. At the net, the Bearcats notched six total blocks. Middle blocker duo, redshirt sophomore Cayden DeSantiago and sophomore Avery Guisinger, as well as Lonergan each contributed to the total with three.  

The Bearcats will be back at the Melvin Price Convocation Center tomorrow afternoon, Oct. 25th, with first serve at 3:00pm. McKendree will face the Miners of Missouri University S&T for another conference match up.
