Du Plessis's Top 10 paces McKendree at famed Cog Hill

Lemont, IL - McKendree University Men's Golf wrapped a three-round test at the famed Cog Hill #4 Dubsdread, getting a balanced team showing that tightened as the Flyers Fall Intercollegiate wore on. Trystan Du Plessis led the Bearcats at 227 (+11), while Dhayanij Iemkanitchat (237), Ethan Lang (239), Edison Wu (240), Aidan O'Keefe (243), and Tristan Traustason (245) packed closely behind to round out the scoring. Across three rounds, the group produced multiple sub-40 nines and trimmed mistakes on the inward half, reflecting better control of Dubsdread's demanding greens and long par-4s. The cumulative card reads like a team that learned the golf course quickly, found more fairways and up-and-downs each day, and left with a clear blueprint for turning mid-70s rounds into tournament-wide gains next time out.

TRYSTAN DU PLESSIS | 7TH PLACE | +11 / 227
Du Plessis paced McKendree with a 54-hole 227, highlighted by a clean, even-par 72 in round two where he split the card perfectly at 36-36. He opened with 79 and closed with a 76, finishing the event with his best nine of the week: a tidy 35 (-1) coming home on Tuesday. Across the three rounds, he trimmed seven shots from his first-nine totals between round one (43) and round three (41) and matched that improvement on the inward side (36-36-35). The three-day line shows both ceiling and resilience, as he posted even par and finished under-par on that last nine.

DHAYANIJ IEMKANITCHAT | T-27TH PLACE | +21 / 237
Iemkanitchat posted 237 on the strength of a steady opener at 75 (+3) and a closing 79 (+7) that featured a composed inward 37. The second round proved the outlier at 83, but even there, he fought to the clubhouse with matching 42s on each side. His first day set the tone: 39 going out and 36 coming in, one of McKendree's stronger back-nine numbers of the week. The card shows a player who handled the back side better overall (36-41-37) and kept big numbers off the board late to secure team counting scores twice.

ETHAN LANG | T-33RD PLACE | +23 / 239
Lang's week trended in the right direction, finishing 239 on rounds of 79-83-77. He saved his best for the finale, closing with an even-par 36 on the inward half to post the Bearcats' second-best final-round number. His outward nine tightened each day (40-43-41), and he matched Du Plessis for the lowest Sunday back nine on the squad. The three-round split underscores a strong close and meaningful bounce-back from Monday, turning an 83 into a six-shot improvement by the finish.

EDISON WU | T-39TH PLACE | +24 / 240
Wu surged late to cap a 240 total, knocking five shots off his Monday number with a round-three 77. The final-day improvement came from a composed front-side 39 and repeat 38 on the inward nine, giving him back-to-back sub-40 finishes coming home (38-42-38). His opening-day 81 featured a 43 out front and a 38 coming in, a pattern he leaned into as the tournament progressed. The overall profile - 81-82-77 with closing halves of 38-42-38 - speaks to a player who settled into his lines and tightened approach play as the event wore on.

AIDAN O'KEEFE | T-46TH PLACE | +27 / 243
O'Keefe produced one of the event's biggest single-day jumps, slicing eight shots from an opening 85 to post 77 in round two before finishing at 243. That middle round came together with a balanced 38-39 and represented his best front-nine of the week. He wrapped with 81 (41-40) while limiting mistakes on the closing stretch to keep the number in the low 80s. The three-day split shows clear progress after day one, particularly on the back side where he improved by seven and then six shots over the final two rounds.

TRISTAN TRAUSTASON | T-50TH PLACE | +29 / 245
Traustason logged 245 on rounds of 82-80-83 and quietly put together some of McKendree's more dependable inward nines: 38-40-39. His Saturday 80 was built on a controlled 40-40 loop, the week's most balanced card for him, and he again finished solidly on Tuesday with 39 coming in. The opening day was his highest outward nine (44), but he answered with a four-shot reduction on day two and matched that back-nine 38 from the start. Taken together, the pattern shows a reliable finish all three days and incremental gains from tee to green as the tournament settled in.
