Ethan Fields Reels In Second at Kentucky Lake Bassmaster Open

KENTUCKY LAKE, Ky. - Junior Ethan Fields competed in the Kentucky Lake Bassmaster Open this past weekend, which hosted 239 professional boats.

The Opens attract outstanding young anglers and extremely good, seasoned veterans of the sport. These Anglers are the Bassmaster Elite anglers of today and tomorrow. The event was rough for the Anglers, as high winds made both navigation and fishing very difficult.

After day two, Fields was in third place and well inside the top ten cut line. As the top ten went out to start the championship on Saturday, Fields was just 7-5 behind the leader. He made huge gains, finishing only 3-9 back. His three-day totals of 20-15, 20-3, and 22-6 were the most consistent in the field.

Head coach Jon Rinderer added, "Taking 2nd place in a Bassmaster Open is an incredible accomplishment for anyone, especially a junior in college."
