LEBANON, Ill. – McKendree anglers had a great showing at their home invitationals in preparation for the ACA Open this past weekend.
Carson Belville and Kai Barrett win day one of McKendree Invitational.
The Bearcats had a great day at the team's Invitational on Vandalia Lake with SIUE, Drury, University of Illinois and Wabash Valley in attendance.
Belville and Barnett weighed in a five bass limit for 20.32 to take the win. Their limit included the big bass of the day, a 5.65 pounder. Second place went to Zander and Will from SIUE with a great limit for 17.52. The McKendree team of Zach Widelski and Parker Welch reeled in the third-place finish with a limit weighing 15.20. Fourth went to Brody and Tyler from Wabash Valley with five for 14.99. The McKendree duo of Chase Logue and Mason Darling rounded out the top five with a limit weighing 14.83.
Other McKendree teams weighing in on day one were:
6th Place- Evan McCormick and Dakoda Viley with five for 14.82.
8th Place- Angelo Malek and Henry Fledderman weighed five for 13.92.
12th Place- Liam Bonnett and Matthew Qualich with five for 9.93.
13th Place- Ryan Foster and Landon Ingram with five for 9.83
14th Place- Dawson Hendrix and Owen Vaughn had four for 8.59.
15th Place Owen Sheppard and Jackson Furman had a limit for 6.95.
17th Place- Eli Rocha had 3.62.
18th Place KJ Jamison and Tyson Rauser weighed two for 3.11.
Bonnett and Belville get the win as Bearcats go Back-to-Back and place eight teams in the top ten.
The Springfield Lake Invitational proved to be a very tougher day, but that didn't stop Belville and Bonnett. They caught the only five bass limit weighed in for the day. Their five bass weighed in at 15.11. Qualich and Rocha also had an incredible day weighing four bass for 14.70 and taking second place. Their stringer included the big bass of the day, a 4.51. Zach Corell and Wyatt Becker from Wabash Valley placed third with four bass for 10.23.
Fourth place went to Evan McCormick and Kai Barnett with four for 9.45. Rounding out the top five was the team of Zack Widelski and Parker Welch with 9.29 pounds. Other

Head Coach Jon Rinderer had this to say at the end of the weekend "A huge thank you to our parents and McKendree families for all the great food and support for the team this weekend. Yesterday's meal for all the anglers after the tournament was absolutely incredible. I know that nobody went home hungry, and somebody ate way too much Texas Sheet Cake".
He continued to state "We also want to give a huge shout out to TH Marine and the ACA Collegiate Bass crew for allowing our tournaments to be TH Marine sponsored events. These two have always donated fantastic prizes and incredible gift cards to our school run events as additional prizes for the anglers".
The next event for the team will be the ACA Open this upcoming weekend October 10th and 11th on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, Arkansas.
