INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - McKendree University men's swimming senior Jack Lustig won his third consecutive NCAA DII national title in the 200-yard butterfly to highlight a strong night of swimming on night four.
Lustig swam a time of 1:40.89, capping off his illustrious career with a third consecutive NCAA Championship in the event and became the first athlete in school history to win the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly NCAA titles in the same year.
The Bearcats continued their dominance as freshman Vova Gavrysh took bronze, touching in with a time of 1:44.26. Senior Archie Minto rounded out the podium with an eighth-place finish, wrapping up the butterfly in 1:47.89.
Junior backstroker Patryk Rozenek saw the podium, notching a fifth place in the 100-yard backstroke in 46.54.
The 500-yard freestyle saw sophomore Christan Davidson took 11th in the nation with a time of 4:24.61.
The relay unit of Gavrysh, Rozenek, Souza, and junior Tyson Upton closed out the night with a 1:19.00, taking eight place.
The Bearcats currently sit in third place and will conclude the national championship with 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 1650-yard freestyle, and 400-yard freestyle relay.
