Women's Lacrosse Battles Sailfish

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The McKendree University women's lacrosse team battled against Palm Beach Atlantic Friday afternoon to conclude their Spring Break trip down South.

The Bearcats scored four goals in the first half but couldn't match the Sailfish's seven goals, making it a score of 7-4 going into the second half. McKendree scored a quarter-high four goals in the third period, but the Sailfish kept their momentum going making it a final score of 15-9.

Offensively, the Bearcats were led by junior attacker Jayna Barnden, with five goals, and freshman attacker Ariyah LaFrance, with three goals. Sophomore midfielder Lexi Macleod led the team in draw controls with four.

On the defensive end, sophomore goalkeeper Amber Hayden notched in 14 saves. Freshman midfielder Makenna Fulkerson caused two turnovers on the Sailfish.

The Bearcats are back in action for a neutral-site game against Dominican University of California in Liberty, Missouri on March 27 at 2 p.m.
