BOLIVAR, Mo. - No.20 McKendree University softball (20-11, 6-2 GLVC) collected three more wins in a road weekend, sweeping Southwest Baptist and splitting against Drury across on the western border of Missouri. The Bearcats narrowly dropped the weekend opener against the Panthers before going on a tear with 35 runs to take the final three games of the weekend and improve to 6-2 in conference play overall. McKendree swept SBU to close out the weekend, including a 12-0 victory in the latter match up versus the Bearcats of SBU. McKendree returns home for its next pair of doubleheaders with Lincoln and Missouri S&T visiting Bearcat Field on March 22 and 23.
Game 1 @ Drury | L, 3-2
McKendree had to make a comeback in the first game of the weekend with Drury taking the lead in the first inning. The Bearcats found a stride in the fifth inning as junior utility

Lauren Harris singled to push Vetter home for a 2-1 advantage over the Panthers.
Drury knotted the game in the fifth, which eventually pushed the contest to extra innings. The Panthers took the game in the eighth inning with a one-run single.
Game 2 @ Drury | W, 11-2
In game two of the doubleheader, the Bearcats run-ruled the Panthers with five coming in the top end of the first. McKendree's scoring began with a grand slam by junior infielder
Ali Grenzebach, which brought in Roth, junior pitcher
Sami Huck, and Vetter. Junior outfielder
Laynee Tapp then added the fifth run of the inning with a single to drive in senior outfielder
Heaven Lawrence.
The Bearcats stacked runs in each inning following the first with two in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth and the final coming in the fifth. Drury landed two runs in the fourth before McKendree pushed the lead to nine runs in the fifth to close-out the game.
Vetter tossed four innings with five strikeouts for the win while freshman
Josie Wettig threw one in the victory.
Game 1 @ SBU | W, 12-10
McKendree kept its foot on the gas in game three of the weekend with 11 runs over the third and fourth innings, which featured a pair of three-run homers in the process by freshman infielder
Morgan Spodarek and Harris. McKendree added its final run in the sixth for a 12-6 lead over Southwest Baptist.
SBU stormed back, getting the game to a 12-10 score before McKendree could lock it up. Huck earned the win in the circle with eight punch outs over four innings while Wettig and senior
Paige McAllister combined for three innings in the win over SBU.
Eight Bearcats tallied a hit with Huck, Harris, and Tapp each going for a three-hit outings with nine individuals scoring in the contest.
Game 2 @ SBU | W, 12-0
The final game of the weekend saw the Bearcats take down SBU with a second-straight 12-run game and a second run-rule win on the weekend. The first inning saw four runs with two home runs, including one from Vetter and another by Spodarek.
McKendree loaded up on runs in the fifth to finish the game with eight behind two extra-base hits and a single. Spodarek powered a double to left before Tapp added a one-run single, while Vetter capped the scoring with a center field three-run bomb.
Vetter posted the win over five full innings with six strikeouts and just one hit by SBU.
