Lacrosse Battles Against Cardinals on the Road

LIBERTY, Mo. - The McKendree University women's lacrosse team battled against William Jewell College Saturday night, falling to the Cardinals.

The Bearcats started the game strong, out scoring the Cardinals in the first period by three goals. The Cardinals came back in the second period, ending the first half with a score of 8-7. The Bearcats couldn't hold off the Cardinals in the second half, ending the game with a final score of 17-13.

The Bearcats were led by junior attacker Jayna Barnden with four goals. Following behind with two goals each were sophomore attacker Alli Hoschka and freshman attacker Ariyah LaFrance. Sophomore midfielder Lexi Macleod led McKendree in assists with two.

Defensively, sophomore goalkeeper Amber Hayden tallied 12 saves. Barnden and Macleod each caused two turnovers on the Cardinals.

Mckendree is back in action Sunday, April 6 as they take on Maryville University in St. Louis, Mo. at 12:00 p.m.
