Hoskin, McCraney Sweep MIVA Player of the Week Awards

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - No. 11 McKendree University men's volleyball redshirt junior Sam Hoskin and senior middle blocker D'Aaron McCraney swept the Midwest Intercollegiate Player of the Week awards after taking down Queens University of Charlotte last Friday and Saturday.

Hoskin earned the MIVA Offensive Player of the Week Award after notching 11 kills, two service aces, and one assist in the sweep against Queens on Friday, February 28. In Saturday's win against the Royals, Hoskin secured 22 kills with a hitting percentage of .450, also tallying one service ace.

McCraney dominated with his blocking presence in both matches, winning the MIVA Defensive Player of the Week award. In Friday's match against the Royals, McCraney secured five total blocks, one being a solo block, and on Saturday, McCraney notched another five total blocks, two of them being solo blocks. Over the two matches, McCraney had zero blocking errors and four digs.

The Bearcats moved up two spots from No. 13 to No. 11 in the AVCA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Poll. McKendree is currently ranked first in the MIVA, being 7-1 in conference play.
