No. 2-seeded Men's Volleyball to Host MIVA Quarterfinals; Set to Play No. 7-seeded Purdue Fort Wayne

LEBANON, Ill. – The No. 12 McKendree University men's volleyball team is set to host the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) Quarterfinals on Saturday, April 19, at 6 p.m. The No. 2-seeded McKendree University Bearcats will face the No. 7-seeded Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons.

This past weekend, the Bearcats swept the Mastodons twice, earning the program's first regular-season title. Heading into the conference tournament, McKendree holds a 13-3 conference record and a 19-7 overall record.

Offensively, the Bearcats are led by sophomore setter Nate Flayter, who averages 10.02 assists per set, and redshirt junior outside hitter Sam Hoskin, who averages 3.06 kills per set. On the defensive end, Flayter and junior libero Yadiel Diaz contribute 2.35 and 2.26 digs per set, respectively. Middle blockers Rolen Lively and D'Aaron McCraney average 0.98 and 0.90 blocks per set, respectively.

Purdue Fort Wayne currently holds a 4-12 record in MIVA play and an 11-14 overall record. The Mastodons are led by opposite hitter Logan Muir, who averages 4.23 kills per set, and libero Andrew Mayer, who averages 1.74 digs per set.

The match will be live-streamed on the GLVC Sports Network, and live statistics will be available. Admission for the game is $10, and students may attend free of charge.
