No. 2-seeded Men's Volleyball Set to Host MIVA Semifinals Against No. 3-seeded Ohio State

LEBANON, Ill. - The No. 2-seeded McKendree University men's volleyball team is set to host the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) semifinals against No. 3-seeded Ohio State on Wednesday, April 23, at 7 p.m.

McKendree holds a 13-3 record in MIVA play and a 20-7 overall record after sweeping Purdue Fort Wayne in the MIVA quarterfinals. The Bearcats and Buckeyes are 1-1 against each other this season, with McKendree claiming a four-set victory at home and falling in five sets on the road.

Offensively, the Bearcats are led by redshirt junior outside hitter Sam Hoskin, who averages 3.04 kills per set, and sophomore setter Nate Flayter, who averages 10.06 assists per set. Flayter also leads McKendree defensively, contributing 2.34 digs per set.

The Buckeyes enter the semifinals with an 11-5 conference record and a 17-10 overall mark after taking down Lindenwood in the MIVA quarterfinals. Opposite Shane Wetzel leads Ohio State on both sides of the ball, averaging 3.81 kills and 1.81 digs per set.

The match will be live-streamed on the GLVC Sports Network, and live statistics will be available. Admission is $10, while students may attend free of charge.
