Flayter Earns Third MIVA Defensive Player of the Week Accolade

LEBANON, Ill. - No. 12 McKendree University men's volleyball sophomore setter Nate Flayter was named Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league's office Tuesday.

Flayter earns his third MIVA Defensive Player of the Week award this season after the Bearcats clinched two wins against Missouri S&T and Quincy. The Bearcats took down the Miners in four sets and the Hawks in five.

The Wisconsin native recorded a double-double with 19 digs, three blocks, and 42 assists, with zero ball-handling errors against the Miners. Against the Hawks, Flayter notched in 14 digs, one block, and 46 assists, with zero ball handling errors.

This week, McKendree takes on Purdue Fort Wayne at home on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12.
