LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University men's track and field freshman Kierson Wicks has qualified for the 2025 NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field National Championship in the high jump.
Wicks, a freshman from Saint Louis, Mo. is the first Bearcat to qualify for the NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field National Championship National Championship since Malachi Caroll in 2023, who placed 18th in the 100m that year.
Wicks followed up a dominant indoor season by continuing to break records this outdoor season, becoming the GLVC champion and GLVC outdoor conference championship meet record holder at 2.12m (6'11.5").
During his 2024-25 indoor campaign Wicks finished eighth at the 2025 NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field Championship, earning a first team All-American after jumping a career best mark of 2.14m (7' 0.25"). He also won the GLVC Indoor Conference Championship, and GLVC freshman of the year leaping a mark of 2.12m (6'11.5").
The NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field National Championship will begin next Thurs. May. 21, in Pueblo, Colo. with Wicks jumping Fri. May. 24 at 5:45PM CST.
