Lenny Dupoyet. McKendree heads back home to Leemon Field to open up Great Lakes Valley Confernce play on Sunday, September 14 against Rockhurst at 2:30PM.
McKendree utilized a strong defensive front to maintain an advantage and an eventual lead going into the halftime intermission period. The Bearcats fired five shots in the first half, including the first college score by Thulin in the 15th minute, who collected a pass from Dupoyet, firing it into the net for the 1-0 lead. McKendree led the remainder of the half while allowing just three SNU shots and no corners earned by the Crimson Storm. The second half saw an increased level of pressure by the SNU attack, as the Crimson fired two goals near the mid-way part of the second half, holding a 2-1 advantage through the end of the second 45 minute period.
McKendree still holds the all-time series lead over Southern Nazarene, 2-1-0, with wins over the Crimson in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, 1-0 OT, and in non-conference play during the 2024 season, 1-0.
