LEBANON, Ill. – McKendree's men's volleyball prepares for a quick travel trip to face the Lindenwood Lions on Thursday at 6 PM for a short weekend of competition.
The Bearcats enter Thursday after going 0-2 this past weekend after a tough road trip to Ball State and Purdue Fort Wayne. McKendree is looking to build some momentum before return home next weekend, currently nursing a 6-6 overall record, and a MIVA record of 1-3. Offensively, redshirt senior outside hitter
Sam Hoskin leads all players with 149 kills, with 3.47 kills/set. Hoskin is followed by senior opposite
Bryce Wetjen with 120, averaging 2.79 kills/set. Junior setter
Nate Flayter currently has 451 assists on the season. Defensively, the Bearcats' back court is led by Flayter with 98 digs, averaging 2.28 digs/set, Flayter is followed by Hoskin with 83, averaging 1.93 digs/set. At the net, senior middle blocker
Rolen Lively is a force, currently sitting at 46 blocks, averaging 1.07 blocks/set.
Lindenwood is coming into the match after going 1-1 last weekend, with a 3-0 win over Purdue Fort Wayne and a four-set loss to Ball State. The Lions are 9-2 overall, with a 3-1 MIVA record. Senior outside hitter Brendan Louthain leads offensively with 119 kills, averaging 3.13 kills/set. Louthain is followed by junior opposite Luke Kraft with 113, averaging 2.97 kills/set. Senior setter Zach Solomon is sitting at 403 assists on the season. Defensviely, the Lions' back court is led by sophomore libero Lincoln Geist with 64 digs, averaging 1.73 digs/set. Geist is followed by Solomon with 56, averaging 1.47 digs/set. At the net, sophomore middle blocker Amir Grant leads with 27 blocks, averaging 0.73 blocks/set, followed by junior middle blocker Owen Walsh with 26, averaging 0.70 blocks.set.
