INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released their Division II Regional Rankings on Wednesday, February 25th, as the McKendree men's basketball team was placed ninth amongst those in the Midwest Region.
The Bearcats were under consideration in the first 10 that was released last week, as the team has records of 20-5 against DII competition and 19-5 against the same level within the Midwest zone. McKendree overall on the season is 21-5 and has a 14-4 mark in GLVC play.
McKendree is 2-1 against those in this week's edition of the rankings, beating both the second-ranked No.19 Rockhurst University and the 10th-ranked Missouri S&T, while falling to the eighth-ranked William Jewell College. The Bearcats will face the Rockhurst Hawks this Thursday in Kansas City at 7:30 PM CT in a highly anticipated matchup.
ABOUT THE NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS
Records for consideration are against NCAA Division II opponents only. The regional rankings will be released every Wednesday afternoon beginning Feb. 18 and will be done weekly through March 4. The official selection committee's ranking of the top teams in each of the eight regions is used to determine who qualifies for the NCAA Tournament.
