TABLE ROCK LAKE, Mo. – The Bearcat Anglers recently competed at the annual Major League Fishing (MLF) Table Rock Tournament on April 10th with a few reching qualification status for the upcoming MLF National Championship.
It was a 210-boat tournament.
Sophomores Liam Bonnett (Pittsfield, Ill.) and Matthew Qualich (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) led with a 13th-place finish. Their five bass limit weighed 16-6 and qualified them for the MLF National Championship.
Graduate Maxwell Trotter (Decatur, Ill.) and junior Angelo Malek (Lake St. Louis, Mo.) placed 51st with five for 14-5.
Sophomores Chase Logue (Oreana, Ill.) and Mason Darling (Highland, Ill.) weighed in five for 14-3 and 55th place.
Junior Parker Welch (Spring Hill, Kan.) and freshman Owen Vaughn placed 58th with 14-1.
Sophomores Zach Widelski (Wheaton, Ill.) and Evan McCormick placed 79th with five for 13-7.
Graduate Jack Stephens (St. Louis, Mo.) and senior Kai Barnett (Columbiana, Ala.) were 82nd with five for 13-5.
Graduates Evan Sutton (Highland, Ill.) and Jaxson Freeman (Loda, Ill.) were 85th with five for 13-3.
Seniors Zach Pocos (Norwalk, Ohio) and Connor Hall (Jacksonville, Ill.) placed 88th with five for 13-2.
Sophomore Dawson Hendrix (Lerna, Ill.) and freshman Landon Ingram placed 89th with five for 13-2.
Junior Ryan Foster (Columbia, Ill.) and senior Henry Fledderman (Lake St. Louis, Mo.) were 100th with five weighing 12-15.
Graduate Kyle Hopping (Lake St. Louis, Mo.) and junior Eli Rocha placed 128th with five for 12-4.
Senior Tucker Siminak (Antioch, Ill.) and sophomore Carson Belville (Rushville, Ill.) were 133rd with five for 12-1.
"I am really proud of these guys," said Head Coach Jon Rinderer. "In our last three major events with 210 to 283 boats, a team has stepped up with a 4th,1st, and 13th to help move us up the leaderboard."
The latest Bass Pro Shops School of the Year standings has the team sitting in 8th Place nationally:
