Lebanon, IL - The 20th-ranked McKendree University Softball team brought in even more in-season honors on Monday afternoon when it was announced that first baseman Jasmine Myers had won the Great Lakes Valley Conference's Player of the Week, the first such honor of her career. Myers was a critical offensive piece to McKendree's (3-1) weekend that saw the Bearcat bats average 5.8 runs per game, splitting with UMSL before sweeping Maryville. 

Myers had a balanced weekend, but it was led by a 3-hit, 3-RBI performance in the opening game against UMSL. Among those three hits was her eighth home run of the season (2nd on the team). It would be an offensive performance that led to the Lee's Summit, Missouri native to draw four walks in the finale with the Tritons. 

The junior would go on to combine for two hits and two RBI during the Maryville series. That adds up to a run of having gotten at least one hit in seven of her last nine games played. 

Myers is now second on the team in batting average (.375) for the season, and is one of an impressive six Bearcats batting over the .300 mark. She is also one of just two Bearcats with a season OPS north of 1.000, coming in at 1.093. 

Myers and the Bearcats continue GLVC play with a home bout against the UIS Prairie Stars on Sunday, April 19th at Bearcat Field, with first pitch times set for 12:00 & 2:00 PM.
