Lebanon, IL - The 17th-ranked McKendree University Softball team added even more in-season honors on Monday when it was announced that senior pitcher
Sami Huck had repeated as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week. Huck had another terrific outing on Saturday at Rockhurst, leading to an impressive fourth in-season honor of the year for the Potosi, Missouri native.
The #17 Bearcats split a doubleheader at the Hawks in Kansas City, Kansas on Saturday, with Huck pitching in a 9-0 winner for McKendree. The victory allowed Huck to surpass 400 strikeouts and McKendree and 900 strikeouts for her collegiate career.
Huck went the distance, allowing just two hits, no earned runs, two walks, and 14 strikeouts.
It was Huck's sixth outing of 10 or more strikeouts, as she currently averages around eight strikeouts per appearance.
Further, in the full landscape of the season, Huck is up to a (14-5) record with a 2.11 earned run average, 154 strikeouts, and a .204 batting average against.
McKendree is back in action with a couple of key conference home games, hosting the UMSL Tritons (Saturday 4/11 - 12 & 2 PM) and Maryville Saints (Sunday 4/12 - 12 & 2 PM) at Bearcat Field.
