NEW ORLEANS, La. – McKendree's women's powerlifting team takes home third place in aw at the USA Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals on Sunday.
Cherish Anderson grabbed an individual national title. Anderson and
Maram Makhlouf earn All-American honors.
The Bearcats finished with a total of 31 points (2,685 dots). Anderson finished on top of the 44kg raw weight class, earning an individual national champion title and All-American honors. Anderson grabbed a total of 12 points. Anderson finished with the total weight of 245kg, successfully completing 90kg in squat, 47.5kg in bench, and 107.5kg in deadlift.
Hannah Alexander finished fourth in her respective weight class, tallying a total of seven points and finishing with a total weight of 475kg.
Carly Reese added six points to McKendree's overall total, finishing fifth in her respective weight class after totaling a weight of 472.5kg.
Brylee Throgmorton finished eighth in her respective weight class, adding three points to the Bearcats' total. Throgmorton finished with a total weight of 430kg.
In the equipped class, McKendree finished ninth with 17 total points. Makhlouf finished third in her respective weight class, earning All-American honors, grabbing a total of eight points and finishing with a weight total of 467.5kg.
Gabriella Cabrera grabbed a sixth place finish in her respective weight class, recording a total of five points and finishing with a weight total of 522.5kg.
Marijayne Hochgraber placed eighth in her respective weight class, tallying a three points and finishing with the weight total of 412.5kg.
