Lebanon, IL - Postseason honors continue to come in, as the 14th-ranked McKendree University Softball team finds itself amid a historic 2026 campaign. The latest round saw Bearcat ace pitcher Sami Huck announced as a D2CCA First Team All-Region honoree.
Huck has been a workhorse for McKendree in the circle, already picking up numerous honors in 2026 like GLVC Co-Pitcher of the Year, four GLVC Pitcher of the Week honors, and was one of two pitchers in all three NCAA divisions to win two NFCA National Pitcher of the Week honors.
This year, Huck has started in 34 games, going (25-7) with a 2.16 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, 213.2 innings, 44 walks to 269 strikeouts, and a .201 batting average against, not to mention a GLVC-leading 12 shutouts.
At the plate, Huck has hit to a .330 batting average with 60 hits, 11 RBI, and a .402 on base percentage with 2 stolen bases.
Huck and the Bearcats make their first-ever Super-Regional appearance on Thursday at 12:00 PM at the 2nd-ranked UIndy Greyhounds.
