LEBANON, Ill. -- McKendree Bearcats (0-2, 0-0 GLVC), fell in three against Northwest Missouri State University (3-0, 0-0 MIAA) in their second matchup of the McKendree invitational Friday night.
With over five players hitting above .300, Northwest Missouri State University won the battle of the Bearcats in the offensive category. NMSU tallied 44 kills in total to McKendree's 31 kills, leaving McKendree trailing in efficiency.
McKendree had three players, freshman outside Reese Distler, freshman middle blocker Ilana Reeder, and sophomore opposite Madelyn Clarke, placing top of the leaderboard for the Bearcats, racking 7 kills each. Junior setter Madison Wojdyla and sophomore setter Peyton Upgraft tallied 15 and 13 assists, respectively.
Defensively, junior Paige Parant led the team with 11 digs, with Distler following closely behind 10 digs. Reeder led the team in blocks, earning 1.5 for the Bearcats.
McKendree has two opportunities to earn their first win at home tomorrow in a matchup against the Montevallo Falcons at 11:30am and an evening game at 7:00pm against Ouachita Baptist University at the Melvin Price Convocation Center.
