INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. | Great Lakes Valley Conference - Following a six-point outing, McKendree University men's soccer sophomore forward
Fredrik Thulin (Stavanger, Norway) collected the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week honors,
as released by the league office on Monday afternoon. Thulin and the Bearcats tallied a 1-0-0 week with a 5-0 drubbing of Upper Iowa on Saturday afternoon while setting their sights ahead to a home bout against Drury on September 16 at 7:30PM in Lebanon at Leemon Field.
Thulin, a seemingly veteran presence on a young McKendree squad, helped drive forward a dominant victory for the Bearcats on Saturday, lending a at least hand on four of five goals on the day. He dished off the assist on the game-winner in the 16th minute before firing the first insurance score in the 17th minute. The sophomore then tallied his second goal of the game in the final 10 minutes of play, making it a 4-0 contest, marking his third goal of the fall. In the final minute, McKendree kept its constant pressure on UIU to find another score with Thulin sending the helper for the team's fifth goal of the day. Thulin and the Bearcats left Fayette victorious, 5-0.
The award marked his first Player of the Week honor and was McKendree's first Offensive Player of the Week honor since September of 2024.
