(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 6)- The McKendree University men's soccer team paired a second half goal with some stingy defense to edge Columbia College (Mo.) 1-0 on Wednesday night in a key American Midwest Conference contest.
The first half was a scoreless affair with both teams each hitting a shot off the crossbar. The Bearcats got on the board in the 71st minute on a goal by junior midfielder

Richard Henderson (Dundee, Scotland, Lawside Academy) that ended up being the difference. The Cougars had nine corner kicks in the game, but the Bearcats defense held the visitor's to only four shots on goal in the game.
Redshirt sophomore
Tim Day (Edwardsville, Ill., Edwardsville) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Bearcats had four saves in the shutout win.
