(LEBANON, Ill., March 28)—Baseball and softball were not the only weather-related sports casualties over the weekend for the McKendree University athletics program.

The Bearcat men's golf team had two events – the Evangel University Spring Invitational in Springfield, Mo., and the Maryville University Spring Invitational in Eureka, Mo. – cancelled due to the spring storm that produced 3-6 inches of snow along with rain across the area on Saturday. In addition, the men's tennis team had its trip to the Hack Kellner Invitational at the University of Illinois at Springfield cancelled.

The McKendree men's and women's track and field teams were set to open their outdoor season Saturday at the Southern Illinois University Spring Classic in Carbondale, Ill. The Bearcats elected not to travel due to the weather. However, the meet was called off after just seven events.
