The men's soccer team is set to play its final non-conference game of the season on Monday afternoon when they host Davenport University (Mich.) at 2 p.m. The Bearcats are coming off a 4-1 win over Madonna University (Mich.) last Thursday.
The Panthers enter todays game coming off a 3-1 win over Mt. Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday. The win came after a pair of 2-0 losses to Faulkner University and Auburn University-Montgomery, respectively, start the season.
TWO IN A ROW: McKendree is looking to improve to 2-0 on Monday in a match against Davenport University (Mich.) In the past 10 seasons, the Bearcats have only followed a season opening win with a loss in game two four times.
GLVC OPENER: The men's soccer team was the first McKendree athletic team to compete during the 2012-13 school year and will get to follow-up with being the first McKendree team to compete in a Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) contest. The Bearcats are playing their first season as members of the GLVC this season and will play their first conference contest at Maryville University on Friday at 2:30 p.m, before traveling to University of Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday for a GLVC contest at 2:30 p.m.
SERIES WITH THE SAINTS: McKendree is 11-1 all-time against Maryville, with the lone loss coming on October 8, 2001 when Maryville earned a 2-0 win.
FIFTY-FIFTY: The Bearcats and Tritons (formerly the Rivermen) are currently locked up at 5-5-1 all-time against eachother, giving each a .500 record in the series. The Bearcats have not lost to UMSL since dropping a 1-0 decision on September 16, 2003.
