(MARSHALL, Mo., Jan. 16)- The No. 13 McKendree University women's wrestling team lost a dual match at No. 8 Missouri Valley College on Thursday night.

The Bearcats fall to 11-9 overall and will travel to St. Louis, Mo., on Jan. 24-25 to comepete at the Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association National Tournament.

McKendree earned wins in its first four matches, but the Vikings ended the dual with five wins to earn the victory. Freshman Taylor Resuriz earned a forfeit win at 109 pounds to give the Bearcats a 5-0 lead and freshman Anna DIvins followed with a 10-0 tech fall win over Samantha Higa at 116 pounds to increase the lead to 9-0.

Freshman Lindsey Spjut (Montgomery, Texas/The Woodlands) pinned Samantha Lovelace at 123 pounds to extend the lead to 14-0, and fellow freshman Gabby Wehyrich (Fremont, Neb./Fremont) followed with an 11-0 tech fall victory over Christy Powell at 130 pounds to pick up McKendree's final win of the dual.
