(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 22)--The McKendree University men's basketball will wrap up its longest road trip of the 2014-15 season by heading east to take on a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference opponents. Up first for the Bearcats will be a visit to Nicoson Hall to face the University of Indianapolis Thursday at 7:45 p.m. ET (6:45 p.m. CT) before closing out the five-game road swing on Saturday with a 3 p.m. tip-off against Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Ind.
McKendree will look to get back on the winning track after being edged in GLVC play on Monday at the University of Illinois Springfield, 67-63. The Bearcats led by as many as nine points in the first half -- and seven in the second half -- before the Prairie Stars rallied midway through the second half to register the victory. Sophomore guard

John Murphy (Peoria, IL/Richwoods) chipped in with 15 points and six rebounds, while senior forward
Matt Holmes (Houston, TX/Marshall) contributed 13 points and five boards. Senior forward
Logan Carson (DuQuoin, IL/DuQuoin) also reached double figures in the scoring column with 10 points for the Bearcats.
ABOUT INDIANAPOLISThe Greyhounds enters Thursday's game as the top-ranked team in NCAA Division II. Indianapolis ascended to the No. 1 spot in the rankings thanks in part to its 15-0 overall record and perfect 7-0 mark in the GLVC. The Greyhounds maintained their unblemished season record with a pair of victories last week, including a 66-62 home win over then-No. 4 Bellarmine University. Head coach Stan Gouard has four players averaging in double figures, led by senior forward Joe Lawson at 19.7 points per contest. Lawson is also pulling down 7.3 rebounds per outing while shooting 58 percent from the floor. Junior guard Jordan Lloyd is next at 13.3 points a game and a .537 field goal percentage, while senior forward Brennan McElroy brings 11.6 points and a team-leading 9.5 rebounds per contest into Thursday's match-up. McElroy is also one of the top field goal shooters in NCAA Division II, having connected on 70 percent of his tries from the floor.
McKendree and Indianapolis last tangled on Jan. 25, 2014 at the Harry M. Statham Sports Center in Lebanon. The Greyhounds survived a late comeback attempt from the Bearcats to post a 99-91 win in the lone meeting of 2013-14 between the two schools.
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S The Pumas are 4-13 overall and 1-6 in conference action. Saint Joseph's has dropped each of its last three games heading into a Thursday meeting against the University of Illinois Springfield. The Pumas opened a four-game home stand last weekend by dropping decisions to both the University of Southern Indiana (78-66) and Bellarmine University (91-71). Second-year head coach Tom Church has the second-leading scorer in the GLVC in his lineup in Cameron Vines. The senior guard is averaging 20.4 points per game while also pulling down a team-best 6.1 rebounds per outing. Junior forward Nathan Tidwell is the only other Saint Joseph's player scoring in double figures at 10.7 points a game.
