(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 10) – The McKendree University D3 men's hockey team is set to hit the ice for a two game series at the University of Arkansas this weekend. The teams are set to play on Friday and Saturday with puck drop at 8 p.m. for both games at the Jones Center in Springdale, Arkansas.
After two losses to Washington University – St. Louis, McKendree has an overall record of 2-8. The Razorbacks have an overall record of 6-9 after splitting games with Vanderbilt University.
Senior forward
Brett Maggio (Collinsville, IL/O'Fallon) leads the Bearcats with 11 points. Maggio has a team leading eight goals and has registered three assists in 10 games this season. After an explosive weekend posting two goals and two assists, freshman forward
Trevor Rieck (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon Township HS) now has six points. Rieck has three goals and three assists on the season. Junior forward
Ethan Gremminger (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt North) also has six points, finding the back of the net four times and adding two helpers.
The Bearcats have three goalies that have seen time in net so far this season. Junior goaltender
Trevor Klostermann (Highland, IL/Highland HS) has made the move to the D2 team, but posted a 1-4 record and a 0.835 save percentage with the D3 team. Currently with the D3 team are sophomore goalies Zach Allen and Jared Bradley. Allen has a 1-3 record with a save percentage of 0.862, while Bradley has a record of 0-1 and a 0.759 save percentage with the D3 team.
