(LEBANON, Ill., February 1) - The McKendree University men's track and field program were back in action competing in the Principia Relays this past weekend in Elsah, IL. The meet was hosted by Principia College and consisted of ten Division II and Division III programs.
The Bearcats finished with 14 top five finishes out of the 20 scored events. The non-traditional meet was unscored as different events were replaced with a variety of relay events.
Sophomore
Alex McCrite (Tamms, IL/Egyptian) had a record day, breaking the school record in the Indoor High Jump with a personal best 2.05-meters. His height, which hit a provisional NCAA standard was also a meet and facility record.
Freshman
Lafayette Waters (Murrieta, CA/Murrieta Valley) took first place in the Long Jump setting a personal best with a distance of 6.97-meters.

Monte Wolke (Sigel, IL/Cumberland) placed third in the Pole Vault posting a personal best and also setting a new school record with a height of 4.34-meters, while sophomore
Harry Uyehara (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville) finished fifth in the Weight Throw with a distance of 14.61-meters.
Sophomore
Ryan Pearce (Villa Grove, IL/Villa Grove) captured the top distance in the Shot Put improving his national standard plating a personal best throw of 16.40-meters. Pearce was joined by freshman
Chase Hagene (Nashville, IL/Nashville) who finished fifth with a throw of 13.90-meters.
On the track freshman
Christian Neal (Bloomington, IL/Bloomington) placed third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.85-seconds. Fellow freshman Dequan Dudley finished with a time of 7.02 seconds in the 60-meter dash, good enough for second place.
Dudley continued his strong performance by taking the crown in the 200-meter with a winning time of 22.73-seconds, and was joined by Neal who placed third after finishing in 22.93-seconds.
Freshman
Joe Shannon (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) had a time of 4:32.89 in the Mile Run taking home a second place finish.
The McKendree 1600 Sprint Medley team placed second, finishing with a time of 3:42.08. The Bearcats continued to roll in the 4x400-meter relay taking home a first place finish with a time of 3:26.26.
McKendree returns to action this weekend in Bourbonnais, IL when they compete in the Olivet Nazarene University Invitational.
