(OKLAHOMA City, Okla., Feb. 13)- Sophomore Megan Black (Batavia, Iowa, Eddyville-Balcksburg-Fremont) finished as runner-up at 123 pounds, and was joined by eight other McKendree University wrestlers on on the medal stand to help the Bearcats to a sixth place finish at the Women's Collegiate Wrestling National Championships.

McKendree had 136 points to earn its sixth place finish, while King University claimed the team title with 208 points.

Black defeated Cassidy Jasperson of Oklahoma City University by tech fall, 12-2, in the semifinals to advance to the national championship match. Black lost a 10-2 decision to Becka Leathers of Oklahoma City in the championship match to finish as runner-up.

McKendree's nine All-America honors is a program high, after having seven All-Americans last season. Juniors Tayler Resuriz (League City, Texas, Clear Falls) (109 pounds) and Olivia Seppinni (Rocklin, Calif., Rocklin) (143 pounds) both finished in third place, while junior Arielle Hernandez (Cicero, Ill.) (109 pounds) and sophomore Alexis Porter (Ballston Lake, N.Y., Shenendehowa High School) (143 pounds) finished in fifth place. Senior Hailee Lilly (Sanford, N.C., Lee County) (123 pounds) and sophomore Cassy Herkelman (Cedar Falls, Iowa, Cedar Falls) (136 pounds) both finish in seventh place, and freshmen Kayla Walker (San Jose, Calif., Pioneer) (101 pounds) and Alexia Ward (Portland, Ore., Westview) (130 pounds) finished in eighth place.
