COMPLETE RESULTS
(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 8) – The McKendree University men's track and field team placed fifth this weekend at the Olivet Nazarene Invitational in Bourbonnais, IL. The meet totaled 11 different universities competing in 16 scored events.
The Bearcats took home eight top five finishes including one victory.
Freshman
Demontez McCray (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) took home the lone victory in the 200-meter with a time of 21.99 seconds. He was joined by fellow freshman
DeQuan Dudley (Hazel Crest, IL/Rich Central) who placed second with a finishing time of 22.50 seconds. McCray and Dudley also placed second and third in the 60-meter with times of 7.01 and 7.04 respectively.
The Bearcats relay teams both posted top five finishes with the Distance Medley team placing third with a team time of 10:57.13, while the 4x400-meter relay team placing fifth after a finish of 3:29.17. The medley squad was a crop of four freshman consisting of
Zach Manion (Granite City, IL/Granite City),
Tyler Manion (Granite City, IL/Granite City),
Trevor White (Highland, IL/Highland), and
Joe Shannon (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville), while the 4x400 team included freshman
Andrew Gardewine (Effingham, IL/Effingham), sophomore
Alex McCrite (Tamms, IL/Egyptian), as well as freshman
Tyler Johnson (South Holland, IL/St. Rita) and
Ryan Krause (Troy, IL/Triad).
In the field sophomore
Harry Uyehara (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville) landed in second place in the Weight Throw with a distance of 15.48-meters, while fellow sophomore
Ryan Pearce (Villa Grove, IL/Villa Grove) placed third in the Shot Put with a distance of 15.41-meters.
McKendree is back in action this weekend when they travel to Allendale, MI for a two day meet hosted by Grand Valley State University.
