McKendree received great performances from the entire team, earning first place in 29 of the day's 30 events. "I am pleased with how our team came back from an emotional evening Friday to perform at a high level again today," said head coach Jimmy Tierney. "They were focused and determined to sharpen themselves for the conference championships in February. Milli (Milica Sostarec) and Xander (Alexander Skinner) certainly stood out for us but we had numerous swimmers and divers who raced extremely well. Thanks to Caitlyn (Caitlyn Canadi) for getting our women off to a lead early on. We will now focus on resting and recharging their batteries after several months of tough training. There will be great emphasis on details of their specific events."

Sophomore Milica Sostarec was outstanding on the weekend winning all eight events that she competed in, including four individual efforts. Saturday Sostarec earned first place in both the 50 and 200 freestyle, touching the wall in 23.93 and 1:55.71 respectively. Her time in the 200 freestyle is a new personal best. Freshman Karlie Rimat touched first in all of her individual events on the weekend with wins in the 200 butterfly and the 500 freestyle on Saturday. Rimat finished with a time of 5:16.09 in the 500 freestyle, and 2:06.03 in the 200 butterfly. The Bearcats also received great performances from freshman Meredith Geyer, sophomore Magdalena Knapp, freshman Victoria Sananikone, and more.

On the men's side, freshman Craig Tompkins excelled on Saturday with two first place finishes. Tompkins earned first in the 200 butterfly and the 200 IM, with a new personal best time of 2:00.38 in the 200 butterfly. Tompkins also took second in the 200 breaststroke, slotting in behind teammate Matthew Meals. Meals took first in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, and finished just behind Tompkins in the 200 IM. Freshman Alexander Skinner took first in both of his individual events, taking first in the 50 and 500 freestyle events with times of 21.27 and 4:44.27.

The Bearcats are back in action again on February 7-10 for the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships in Crawfordsville, Ind.
