(SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Dec. 8) – The McKendree University men's D3 hockey team was defeated 7-1 by Missouri State University late Friday night.
 
The loss puts the Bearcats at 4-9 overall on the season.
 
The Bears jumped out with seven unanswered goals throughout the first three periods before sophomore Garrett Poole (Columbia, IL/Columbia High School) broke through to put McKendree in the scoring column. Poole was assisted by freshman Cooper DiBiase (Bixby, OK/Sachse High School) and sophomore Christian Blandina (Glen Carbon, IL/Edwardsville High School).
 
Senior goaltender Zachary Allen (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) made 19 saves in his efforts.
 
The Bearcats will look for a split on Saturday against the Bears from Missouri State.
