(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 1) – The McKendree University men's D3 hockey team is set to host Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville for two contests this weekend. The Bearcats take the ice at 5 p.m. on Friday, and again on Saturday at 4:45 p.m. for senior day.
 
McKendree is 15-3 overall after sweeping Wheaton College at home last weekend. The Bearcats will be looking to sweep the season series against the Cougars with their final home games of the season, after defeating them 7-2 and 10-1 in October.
 
Freshman forward Derek Northrop leads McKendree in scoring with 31 points, including 17 goals and 14 assists in 18 games. Freshman forward Garrett Poole slots in behind Northrop with nine goals and 19 assists for 28 points this season. Goaltenders Zach Allen and Zach Stenger have split time between the pipes this season. Allen has a record of 10-3 with one shutout and a save percentage of 0.909. Stenger has posted a record of 5-0 with two shutouts and a goals-against average of 1.50.
