(KIRKSVILLE, Mo., Oct. 19) – The McKendree University swimming and diving team swam at the second meet in two days Saturday afternoon against Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) member Truman State University.
The men won 178-80 and the women were defeated 179.5-80.5.
To open the meet, the men won 200 medley relay team of freshman
Davante Carey (Nassau, Bahamas/Queens College), seniors
Matthew Meals (McKinney, TX/McKinney Boyd High School),
Matija Pucarevic (Belgrade, Serbia/Sixth Belgrade Grammar School), and junior
Alexander Skinner (Namibia, Africa/Windhoek Afrikaans Private School) won with a time of 1:32.97.
Freshman
Fabio Dalu (Cagliari, Italy/Liceo L.B. Alberti Cagliari) posted wins in the 500, 1000 yard freestyle and 400 IM, posting times of 4:34.65, 9:22.10, and 4:10.46 respectively.
Junior
Alexander Skinner (Namibia, Africa/Windhoek Afrikaans Private School) wins in the 100, 200 yard freestyle, turning in times of 44:71 and 1:41.98.
In the 100, 200 butterly, Pucarevic touched the wall first in 49.83 and 1:54.94.
For the men, sophomore
Ken Hauter (Waterloo, IN/Veritas Academy) won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.08.
Sophomore
Gregg Lichinsky (West Des Moines, IA/West Des Moines Valley High School) won the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.96.
In the 200 backstroke, senior
Sydney Rey (Columbia, IL/Columbia High School) and junior
Craig Tompkins (Oklahoma City, OK/Homeschool) touched the wall in 2:08.09. and 1:57.84.
Meals took first place in the 200 breaststroke, turning in a time of 2:10.55.
Junior
Meredith Geyer (Germantown, TN/Germantown High School) won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:14.99.
Both sides won the 200 freestyle relay. The women's team of Geyer, sophomore
Haley Rey (Columbia, IL/Columbia High School), junior Sananikone, and S. Rey finished the race in 1:39.61. The men's team of Pucarevic, Lichinsky, freshman
Caleb Law (Anchorage, AK/Robert Service High School), and Skinner posted a team of 1:22.84.
