(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 14) – The McKendree University women's volleyball team will close out the regular 2019 season with Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) matches at Truman State and Quincy. The match against Truman State on Friday is scheduled for 7 p.m. while the match at Quincy on Saturday will begin at 3 p.m.
The Bearcats are 13-14 overall on the season and 6-7 in the GLVC. McKendree is coming off a two win weekend after taking down Maryville University, 3-0 last Friday and then Missouri S&T, 3-1 on Senior Day this past Saturday.
Offensive leaders for McKendree are junior outside hitter
Elle Russell (Festus, MO/St. Pius X), senior outside hitter
Kelly Voss (St. Rose, IL/Mater Dei), and sophomore middle blocker
Hope Gramly (Prosper, TX/Prosper). Russell leads the pack with 289 kills on the season while Voss and Gramly follow, each with 205 kills. Junior setter
Gracie Marr (Castle Rock, CO/Castle View) has set up the Bearcats' offense 878 times this season.
On the back line for McKendree's defense is Voss, senior libero
Alissa Zeitelhack (Overland Park, KS/Blue Valley West), and freshman libero
Amanda Tippett (O'Fallon, MO./St. Dominic ). Voss leads the way with 262 digs, Zeitelhack follows suit with 236 digs, and Tippett is close behind with 218 total digs on the season.
At the net for the Bearcats defense is Gramly and senior middle blocker
Megan Marks (Colgate, WI/Germantown). Gramly has recorded 15 solo block and 80 block assists on the season and currently sits in sixth place in the GLVC in the average amount of blocks per set played. Marks is just two blocks shy of Gramly with 12 solo block and 81 block assists on the season.
Truman State currently sits in 12
th place in the GLVC with a 5-8 conference record while Quincy is in 11
th place with a 6-7 GLVC record.
