(KIRKSVILLE, Mo., Nov. 15) – The McKendree University women's volleyball team fell to Truman State, 3-0 Friday night in Kirksville. Mo. The Bearcats are now 13-15 overall on the season and 6-8 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).

McKendree battled point-for-point with the Bulldogs to open competition forcing the first set into extra points. Eventually Truman State was able to come out on top and claim the first set, 31-29. The Bulldogs maintained the momentum in the second set earning a 25-17 win over the Bearcats. Truman was then able to collect the 3-0 win over McKendree with a 25-19 victory in the third.

Sophomore middle blocker Hope Gramly (Prosper, TX/Prosper) led the Bearcats' offense with 11 total kills on the night for a .444 hitting percentage. Alongside her offensive efforts, Gramly also tallied two block assists.

Senior libero Alissa Zeitelhack (Overland Park, KS/Blue Valley West) and senior outside hitter Kelly Voss (St. Rose, IL/Mater Dei) were essential players for McKendree's defense. Zeitelhack collected 19 digs on the night while Voss was close behind with 15 total digs.

The Bearcats will close out their regular 2019 season with a match at Quincy University on Saturday at 3 p.m.
