(LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 5) – The McKendree University men's D2 hockey team preps for its final series of the 2019 calendar year this weekend Dec. 6-7 on the road at Illinois State University. Both contests are slated for 7:00pm.
The Bearcats currently sit at 6-7-1 overall on the season and 2-7-1 in Mid-America Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA) play.
The current offensive leaders for McKendree are juniors
Derek Northrop (St. Louis, MO/De Smet Jesuit High School),
Adam Dempski (St. Charles, MO/Francis Howell North HS),
Christian Blandina (Glen Carbon, IL/Edwardsville High School), and freshman
Noah Scrum (Maryville, IL/Collinsville High School). Northrop paces the team with nine goals, nine assists, and 18 points – all team highs. Dempski follows with seven goals, eight assists, and 15 points while Blandina and Scrum both post seven goals, seven assists, and 14 points.

Mason Young (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville High School) leads with a 2-4-1 record, 3.49 goals against average, and .919 save percentage. Fellow freshman
Adam Siek (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada/St. Mary's Catholic Secondary School) follows with a 2-3 record, 3.93 goals against average, and .898 save percentage.

The Redbirds enter the weekend at 10-4 overall on the season. Michael Mcellin leads the offense with eight goals, nine assists, and 17 points. Niko Castino is close behind with six goals, eight assists, and 14 points.
In net, Andrew Meyer has a 7-2 record, 2.25 goals against average, and .923 save percentage.
