(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 13)--
The McKendree University women's basketball team hits the home stretch of its 2018-19 season with just five games remaining in the regular season. The Bearcats will hit the road for the final time during the campaign, stopping in Evansville, Ind., for a Thursday evening contest at the University of Southern Indiana before closing out the week with a Saturday afternoon match-up at Bellarmine University.

McKendree, which is 12-10 overall and 6-7 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, holds a 6-5 record in road games this season. This is the second straight year that the Bearcats have posted six road wins, and is tied for the program's highest win total away from the Statham Center since joining the NCAA Division II ranks in 2012-13. The Bearcats earned their sixth road victory of 2018-19 back on Saturday with an 85-71 triumph at Rockhurst University. McKendree set season-highs in both points scored and field goal percentage as the team connected on 52.5 percent of their tries from the floor.

With five games remaining on the Bearcats' GLVC schedule, McKendree sits in sixth place in the GLVC Point Ranking System, which is used to seed the qualifying teams for the GLVC Tournament slated for March 7-10 in Edwardsville, Ill. Interestingly, Southern Indiana sits just in front of the Bearcats in fifth place, while Bellarmine is right on McKendree's heels in seventh place in the ranking system.

A pair of Bearcats have moved themselves onto the program's top 10 career chart in selected statistical categories. Jordan Morton (Olathe, Kan./Olathe South), who cracked the top 10 on McKendree's career rebounding list earlier in the year, has climbed to No. 8 in the category. Morton enters this weekend's play with 640 rebounds. Jordan Heberg (Romeoville, IL/Plainfield North) has jumped into a tie for 10th place on the Bearcats' career list for three-point field goals made with 99. Heberg is tied with former standouts Danna Gilbert and Kristin Hustedde with 99 trifectas.

Following the games at Southern Indiana and Bellarmine, McKendree will play its final three games of the 2018-19 regular season at home. First up will be a Feb. 23 match-up against the University of Illinois Springfield. Bellarmine (Feb. 28) and USI (March 2) will complete the regular-season slate for the Bearcats.

ABOUT SOUTHERN INDIANA
The Screaming Eagles are 15-7 overall and 8-4 in the GLVC entering Thursday's contest against McKendree. Southern Indiana's last game action came on Saturday in a 97-54 loss to No. 18-ranked Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill. Imani Guy led a balanced attack for the Screaming Eagles with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Emma DeHart and Alex Davidson each chipped in with 10 points.

Davidson leads the USI players averaging in double figures at 12.4 PPG. Davidson is second on the squad with 69 assists and 34 steals as well. Guy is posting 11.6 PPG and is the team's second-leading rebounder at 6.1 RPG. Kacy Eschweiler is pulling down a team-best 6.4 RPG through 22 games. DeHart is also scoring in double digits for the Screaming Eagles at 10 PPG. Ashley Johnson has handed out 75 assists.

Southern Indiana won the lone 2017-18 meeting against McKendree, 74-62, on Jan. 27, 2018 in Lebanon. Sydney Diekhoff (Pekin, IL/Pekin Community) came off the bench to post a team-leading 18 points, while Megan Jensen (Union, MO/Saint Francis Borgia Regional) and Jordan Heberg (Romeoville, IL/Plainfield North) each netted 10 points.

ABOUT BELLARMINE
The Knights bring an overall record of 11-9 and a 5-7 league mark into their Thursday night home game against Illinois Springfield. Bellarmine has won three of its last four outings, including a 65-57 decision on the road on Saturday over the University of Indianapolis. Lauren Deel paced the Knights with 17 points, while Ally Mayhaus contributed 10 points and five rebounds.

Mikayla Berry is the lone Bellarmine player scoring in double figures at 11.6 PPG. Deel (8.8 PPG) and Liza Tibbs (8.7 PPG) are also top offensive contributors for the Knights. Three different players are averaging at least five rebounds per game, with Mayhaus leading the way at 5.3 RPG. Breia Torrens has dished out a team-best 49 assists.

Bellarmine held off a late McKendree comeback attempt to register an 83-72 win in the last meeting between the two squads on Feb. 8, 2018 at the Statham Center. Jordan Heberg (Romeoville, IL/Plainfield North) dropped in a team-leading 19 points as Callie Pohlman (Appleton, WI/Appleton North) added 12 points.
