(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 4)--McKendree University bass fishing head coach did not have to travel far to land the latest recruit for the Bearcats with the addition of Nick Holtgrave from Wesclin High School to the 2019-20 roster.

Holtgrave maintains a busy schedule, fishing the USA Bassin' circuit, the Next Generation circuit, Wesclin's Illinois High School Association (IHSA) schedule as well as multiple high school open events. In the high school open events he has posted eight top-10 finishes, including a trio of top-five showings. Holtgrave also placed seventh, 11th and eighth, respectively, in the past three IHSA sectional events. 

Being a USA Bassin' Next Generation Classic qualifier in both 2017 and 2018, Holtgrave traveled to Kentucky Lake and placed 10th and 11th in his two appearances. 

"Nick will be a great addition to our team and the McKendree campus," said Rinderer. "We welcome Nick and his family as a part of our McKendree family this fall."

Holtgrave is the son of Mike and Angie Holtgrave.
