(LEBANON, Ill., March 9) –The McKendree University women's track and field team had one representative in the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday. Junior Tsitsi Mahachi (Harare, Zimbabwe/Chisipite Senior School) placed ninth in the women's triple jump event.

Mahachi's best jump recorded was 12.25m, a new personal best in both indoor and outdoor competition for the junior. With this final distance, Mahachi claimed a ninth place ranking in the country and collected a second-team All-American honor.

The Bearcats will open up their outdoor track and field season with the Bellarmine Invitational March 29-30 with an all-day meet.
