INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced its selections for the upcoming 2026 DII Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, with McKendree sophomore Mickayla Sutherland earning qualification status in the 400-meter dash.
The event will take place in Emporia, Kansas at the Francis G. Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University from May 21st-23rd.
Sutherland will begin the prelims of the 400m on Thursday, May 21st at 5:55 PM CT. Then, she will participate in the final on Saturday, May 23rd at 4:45 PM CT.
The sophomore is coming off an electric performance at the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, where she broke the league record in the 400m dash with a time of 53.60 for the gold medal and All-GLVC accolades.
In the GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championships earlier this season, Sutherland finished third in the same event with a time of 56.07.
